If you had an idea how much money the pharmaceutical companies make off of drug prescriptions, it would boggle the mind. The number is in the billions and it is only getting higher and guess who gets to pay all of that money? That would be the consumer whose out of pocket costs are going through the roof even if they have a decent health care program. DO not believe that just by having health insurance, you are home free when it comes to getting that prescription filled. Nothing comes for free in this world, and co-pays add up quickly to the point where they can bankrupt a family.Doctors and representatives of the drug companies often work together to the point where a doctor will recommend a certain medicine that might not even be necessary, but everybody makes money in the long run while you, as the one in need of the medicine, are going broke trying to meet the co-pays. If you do not have any form of insurance, you might not be able to buy the drugs that are needed to remedy whatever ails you.
